Cieszyn Silesia is a stronghold of Protestantism on Polish soil. Already in the first half of the 16th century, still during Martin Luther’s work, Protestantism played a significant role in this part of Silesia. Today, the faithful of the Lutheran Church of the Diocese of Cieszyn account for about half of all the Polish Lutherans. The rich history of Lutheranism is presented at the Museum of Protestantism, of which collections are housed in the church of Jesus in Cieszyn.
